Jim Volkert's very nice review of Civilizing the Museum

When one writes a book, one is always worried about its reception.  But when one chooses friends one is never worried about the reception of self.  So when as a friend I am asked to write a review it is both a priviledge and a pressure.  "Suppose I won't like the book, what will happen to the friendship".  Here is a lovely review of my book written by Jim Volkert, a treasured friend.  How lucky is that!
