Marian Godfrey Gardner's paper "Whose Revolution is it Anyway?"
Marian Godfrey Gardner is the longtime director of cultural programs for the Pew Charitable Trust. The whole museum field has her and the Pew Foundation to thank for agreeing to underwrite and then promote the creation of EXCELLENCE AND EQUITY. Asked by Wendy Luke to give the Stephen Weil Lecture at the MAAM conference 2010 she gave a most thoughtful and sobering speech about the future of museums and cultural organizations in the coming decades. Here it is! I am proud to call her friend.
