The Pinterest Museum
In 2011, I was asked to speak at the museums conference in Norway. I gave this paper called the Pinterest Museum about how the website Pinterest works and what it has to do with museums and the museum community. Most importantly I noted that Pinterest was a non-judgemental peer to peer learning site using visual learning as its primary tool. I am a firm believer in the usefulness of Pinterest (www.pinterest.com) and now use it in my teaching. You can find one site called “museum educator” as a tool to discuss the concept of exhibition layering. Attached is a version of my paper — The Pinterest Museum. I hope it is helpful in your thinking about peer to peer learning in exhibitions.
