The Opportunity for Social Service 1991
This papeer which explores the nature of community centers and suggests that this work, with or without access to objects, is part of the museum family. It was written first for a presentation in Jerusalem at the Ruth Youth Wing which is part of the Israel Museum. It was part of the ICOM/Ceca conference.
The Ruth Youth Wing founded by Ayala Gordon was one of the earliest examples of a social service children’s museum and served as an important model for my work.
